A few weeks ago at MOPS we had a speaker come from Samaritan's Purse to talk about their
Operation Christmas Child outreach. Each of our tables packed a couple of boxes for some little boys and girls in other countries. One of the ladies at the table had mentioned taking her daughter to the store and having her pick out the gifts. It sounded like a very simple way to get Abigail involved in giving so I thought we would give it a try. So a trip to Target (or "the red store" as Abigail calls it) was in order to fill up a box with toys, school supplies, and toiletries. I wasn't sure how much Abigail was getting it when I told her she was picking out things for a special little boy who wouldn't get any other presents for Christmas. Then on the way home she said that we were going to be like a "pretend Santa Claus" and then I knew she got it, at least a little bit.
