Ethan is turning out to be slightly more challenging than Abigail was regarding sleep. By this point Abigail had been sleeping through the night for a good two months. Ethan sleeps through the night every once in awhile but most nights he wakes up at least once, usually between 3 and 4 in the morning. Not terrible but it could be better, especially with Wil being gone. Last night was rough, he woke up around 3:30, he ate and dozed off for a little bit and then woke up around 4 and would. not. go back to sleep. At 6 in the morning I had to throw in the towel. I put him in his crib and walked out. Lo and behold, after 30 minutes of crying, he fell asleep. It was a lot less tortuous than it was listening to Abigail CIO ("cry it out") for 45 minutes but experience and a healthy does of exhaustion will do that for you. I was hoping to continue teaching him to put himself to sleep tonight, usually in things like this consistency is the key, so I rocked him for a little while until he got sleepy and then put him down in his crib awake. It only took fifteen minutes tonight for him to fall asleep. This is very exciting for me especially because of these things that are currently annoying me:
1 - Ridiculously persistent ants (fortunately regular sugar ones not ghost ants)
2 - Filing taxes - I'm positive I put all the information in correctly but the numbers just don't seem right
3 - Forest City (the biggest annoyance) - I'm so annoyed I can't even go into the details.
Of course these two cuties do make things a lot better

We had an ant problem in our new house. Ortho max home defense spray was the ONLY thing that got rid of them. (thanks Julie) I tried Terro and it didn't work. Good luck with the ants...and the sleep!
