We celebrated Christmas early with my side of the family since my new sister-in-law had to work a 30 hour shift on Christmas day.

Disclaimer - we're going into a taboo subject here, the topic of MONEY

I just saw the figures for BAS (Basic allowance for subsistence) here.  I had to double check what our rate from last year was.  Our BAS went up . . wait for it . . . a grand total of 80 cents.  I guess I should probably be glad that they didn't go down but 80 cents just seems like such a ridiculous amount.
