Rough Night

Well Abigail wasn't able to dodge the bug that's going around the local under 5 group. She was up for several hours last night coughing which meant I was also up for several hours. Fortunately we both slept in until 7:30 this morning but it's still been a tiring day dealing with a toddler who doesn't feel well on less sleep than usual. She's napping now and I haven't heard any coughing coming from her room so hopefully tonight will be better.

Thank you Operation Homefront

I went to an Operation Homefront activity last month for Earth Day, they had crafts and a guided nature walk on base. (For those of you who don't know Operation Homefront puts on monthly activities for the families of deployed Marines and Sailors). Well apparently I signed up for a raffle that day and I just found out today that I won! The prize is a $250 gift certificate to Formaggio - a very nice restaurant in Kailua. So now I have a great place for me and Wil to go for our anniversary dinner (assuming they're back in time, of course).

A great day

First, I was able to talk to Wil on skype today - our first contact other than e-mail in a couple of weeks. He's doing well, flying a lot, dealing with the heat since switching to the day shift and ready to be home. Oh and he shaved off his mustache. It was 2:30 in the morning his time, his shift starts at 4 and he had to wait a good 20 minutes in line so I really appreciated him making the effort to get to the computer.

Second, our air conditioning is finally installed! It's already so much nicer in the house - I can actually sit here and type this without sweating. I can't wait to see how much better Abigail and I sleep tonight.

Third, we are 2/3 of the way done with Wil's deployment.
